Toshiba Laptops 2009

Already one of the best laptops on the market, Toshiba laptops are planning to put a powerful Cell processor in the new consumer electronics as well as launching a TV chip later on in the year in 2009.

The Cell chip set is the center of the new Playstation3 game console that Toshiba developed with Sony and IBM that can handle all of the multimedia tasks that require a lot of processing. Each of these chips is made up of just one Power PC core and eight co-processors.

Sony and Toshiba have been in talks for several years about bringing the Cell processor in consumer electronics. Toshiba held a demonstration of a TV that was Cell-based earlier this year in Las Vegas at the CES show. According to Nobuhiro Kato a manager with Toshiba, the Cell TVs are scheduled to hit the market in Japan in the fall of next year. It will be released in Europe as soon as possible following the Japan release. The company is planning to launch in the United States, however, no time frame for that launch has been set.

Toshiba is also making great advances with the 2009 laptop. Toshiba prides themselves on building technology that can be used to build even more technology.
