Tech Expectations For 2009

Personally, I think 2009 is going to yield a massive amount of new technology from HDTV’s to high performances gadgets. But one area that we can be sure to see a huge growth throughout 2009 is the mobile phone sector. For many years, mobile phones have been at the forefront of technological developments, year after year, with many of the major players in the arena releasing model after model with every changing technology. Sometimes up to 6 different handsets and models within a 12 month period. A significant develop for an industry that was pretty much non existent just a decade ago.

So what can we expect for mobile phones in 2009? Personally, I think it will be more of the same, just more of it. Many manufacturers are opting for touch screen technology due to the success of the Apple iPhone and are trying to couple that with the high end specifications such as the 5MP camera found in some handsets.

In 2007, we all thought mobiles would continue to get smaller but in 2008, it was the larger handsets that were the best sellers. So what can we expect in 2009? Hopefully we’ll see something completely mould breaking from one of the manufacturers.
